SKML schemes

The SKML provides a total of approximately 130 different types of schemes, from sending sample material to participants, through statistically processing the results data they submit, to reporting back the final results.

To find out which analyte is part of which scheme, you can search for both the scheme and the analyte in our overview. You will therefore see that some analytes are part of more than one scheme. There are also analytes for which the SKML does not (yet) have a scheme. Because according to ISO15189 all medical laboratories must participate in an interlaboratory EQA for all their determinations, or must have an alternative approach for this, the SKML has established a positioning note on this subject.

Documents that specifically relate to one or more schemes – such as manuals and explanations – can be found on the page of the relevant section.

Accredited schemes

It is stated at the scheme if it falls within the scope of accreditation of the SKML according to ISO/IEC 17043:2010 with registration number R023 with the Accreditation Council. schemes belonging to this scope have flexible scope elements.

The analytes that fall under these flexible scope elements are listed in those schemes under ‘analytes supported in SKML samples’.

With deterministic schmes, a case description is usually used to determine the (pathogenic) micro-organisms present. The supported micro-organisms are listed in the overview of SKML determinations
